Greetings from the Principal Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya, a premier educational institution for girls in Lower Assam. The idea of gifting Bongaigaon an Institute of Higher Education for women brought together a group of likeminded Philanthropic and in a meeting on 29/11/1992, Presided by late Binanda Chandra Pathak, a noted educationist, was decided that a Sponsoring Body chaired by Mr. Phani Bhusan Choudhury, the then MLA, Bongaigaon, be constituted to realize that dream. Thus, Birjhora Kanya Mahavidylalaya, was established in 1993, at the heart of Bongaigaon town.
